Amazon
The Amazon is Diablo 4's next class, announced at BlizzCon on Sep 12, 2026 for the first half of 2027 as a paid Class Pack; a warrior from Skovos who fights with the bow and, new to Diablo 4, the javelin, with four archetypes, Champion, Skirmisher, Ranger and Commander. Her price and exact date are not announced.
The Amazon is Diablo 4's next class, announced at the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony on Sep 12, 2026 and coming "the first half of 2027" in a paid Class Pack, not an expansion. Blizzard Entertainment introduced her by recalling that once players reached the shores of Skovos in Lord of Hatred, one question showed up everywhere: "Where is the Amazon?" The vision for the class took shape there, the host said, and "next year, one of Diablo's most iconic warriors" arrives. She will be Diablo 4's ninth class (see Classes); Blizzard has not announced her price, exact date or the Class Pack's contents, as of Oct 21, 2026.

The reveal
The ceremony described her as a fearless fighter with "speed, precision" and control over the battlefield. She will wield the bow, "of course", but also brings an entirely new weapon to Diablo 4, "the iconic javelin". The Amazon Class Pack, the host said, arrives in the first half of 2027.
Blizzard's recap of the next day's What's Next panel (Sep 13, 2026) adds the one line on buying her: "Class Pack details and purchase details will be available next year closer to release." Senior Game Director Brent Gibson has said no more Diablo 4 expansions are currently planned (PC Gamer, Sep 12, 2026), so the Amazon is the next big piece of paid content; see Price and Editions.
Why the Amazon, and why now
At the BlizzCon What's Next panel on Sep 13, 2026, the developers gave their reasons: Lord of Hatred had just taken players to Skovos, the Amazons' home, where they fought alongside Amazons for the first time in Diablo 4 and wondered why they could not play one. They called it a decision that was "primarily community-driven" and thanked the community for it.
The team wanted to keep the nostalgia of the Amazon from Diablo 2, where she was a playable class, while making her fit Diablo 4's roster. She is "the definition of peak athleticism", and the panel confirmed she is female only, true to the class's history.
Design pillars
The developers named three pillars: an expert soldier in full command of the battlefield, unrivaled athleticism and precision, and mythical magic unlike the other classes' magic. Blizzard's recap puts it the same way: battle expertise, unrivaled athleticism and mythical magic, a "fiercely disciplined warrior first" who calls on her sister Amazons and Askari ancestors for magical aid.
She is meant to fight in melee, at mid range and fully at range, with poison, cold, fire, lightning and physical damage. Unlike a Sorcerer, she does not conjure magic from thin air: her power comes from her Askari ancestors and the bond of sisterhood.
The four archetypes
Blizzard's recap lists four archetypes that shape the class (Sep 13, 2026):
The Champion is a sword-and-shield melee fighter who buffs herself and her allies, the Amazon "at her most heroic", leading the charge with supportive arenas and cold wind magic. The sword is new for the Amazon.
The Skirmisher is the modern "javazon", an agile hit-and-run fighter with the javelin who weaves in and out of combat and uses poison and lightning.
The Ranger is the "bowazon", a precision archer who snipes from long range with magically enhanced, piercing arrows and fiery ballistas. Asked how she differs from the Rogue, the panel called the Rogue scrappier, slipping in and out of stealth, and the Ranger an "Olympic level" archer.
The Commander is a general who summons her Valkyrie sisters to fight beside her and dominate the field. The team stressed the class is "really early in development" and asked for feedback.
The road to the Amazon
The seasons until her release form a story arc. At the same panel, the developers said the death cult found in Season of Death Awakening is opening ruptures to Pandemonium, the dead begin returning in Season of Hell's Legacy, and the seasons "leading up to the release of the Amazon" end in a confrontation with the Aspect of Death. Season 16 is the next step on that road; Blizzard has not given its date.
