Patch Notes

Diablo 4's latest patch is 3.2.3 (Build #73883, all platforms), released on Oct 14, 2026; it fixed a seasonal questline bug with the Splinters of the Prime Evils, Baal's loot, two boss encounters and Horadric Cube rerolls. This page lists every major patch since launch with its date, and how Blizzard's public test realms work.

Diablo 4's latest patch is 3.2.3, Build #73883, released for all platforms on Oct 14, 2026: it fixed a bug that let a character use a Splinter of a Prime Evil before finishing the Season of Hell's Legacy questline and then never finish it, Tyrael appearing where he made Baal's loot hard to pick up, two boss encounters, and four affixes the Horadric Cube could not reroll. Blizzard patches the live game every few weeks and adds a large numbered update with each season; it posts every note on Blizzard News, on one page per update series. At BlizzCon 2026 the panel's host praised how the team had responded since Lord of Hatred, with Mythic changes "week after week", and a developer answered that the team had heard the feedback and was making "even more changes this season". This page lists the major patches, newest first, with a line on each, as of Oct 20, 2026.

Season of Hell's Legacy patches (3.2)

  • 3.2.3 (Build #73883, Oct 14, 2026): fixed the Splinter-before-questline bug, though characters already stuck stay stuck; Blizzard's workaround is to finish the questline on a new character in the same partition, which unlocks Prime Evil Powers for all of them. Also fixed Baal's loot under Tyrael, the Sandstone Golem in the Horadric Library failing to respawn, the Countess in the Forgotten Tower slipping through her fog wall, Cube rerolls of Impairment Reduction, Barrier Generation, +Healing and Critical Strike Damage, and the Necromancer quest Call of the Underworld (Blizzard).
  • 3.2.2 (Build #73764, Sep 30, 2026): fixed the questline when entering the Worldstone Chamber portal too quickly, the Chamber of Bone giving no rewards, Nihlathak teleporting out of his arena, the Edge Runeword buying two items at once from the Purveyor of Curiosities, and the Henri's Perquisition Charm recipe (Blizzard). A hotfix followed on Oct 2, 2026.
  • 3.2.1 (Build #73552, Sep 15, 2026): launched Season of Hell's Legacy with Splinters of Evil, Waking Nightmares, nine legacy Uniques, Rebirth and shared War Plans. Barbarians were cut back (damage per 10 Strength from 1.1% to 0.8%) while Druids, Necromancers and Paladins rose (1.25% to 1.625% per 10 of their core stat); Legendary drops rose in Torment I to V; every Unique can drop from level 1; Expert and Penitent unlock after the Prologue; Torment XII's bonus experience rose from 1,400% to 1,700%; Echo of Mephisto now guarantees a Mythic (Blizzard, Sep 12, 2026).

What the 3.2.0 PTR changed. The test realm ran from Aug 4 to Aug 11, 2026. One of its changes, ordinary Unique versions of the Iconic Mythics, did not survive: asked at BlizzCon about that "controversial change", the developers said it was reverted, that they had painted "with too broad a brush", and that the Blacksmith's cache for Iconic Mythics alone was coming back. Blizzard's 3.2.1 notes confirm both (Blizzard, Sep 12, 2026).

Season of Death Awakening patches (3.1)

3.1.0 (Build #72592, Jun 30, 2026) launched Season of Death Awakening. Its trailer's cards read "Reworked Mythic Uniques" and "Any Unique can become a Mythic", then "Craft powerful Mythic Uniques with new Horadric Cube recipes". That was "Mythic Uniques 3.0": Mythic became an item quality, always Ancestral with a stronger Unique power, and only one crafted Mythic can be worn (Mythic Uniques). The patch also took the Artificer's Tower out of Beta, added Solo Self Found and capped Echoing Hatred at 150 waves. Follow-ups: 3.1.1 (Jul 14, 2026) made the Corrupted Reaper drop up to two Pandemonium Fragments and cut the Cube's Mythic recipe from 5 to 4 fragments; 3.1.2 (Jul 28, 2026) restored the Pit's end-of-run invulnerability bubble; 3.1.3 (Aug 12, 2026) let party members join an Echo of Mephisto fight at its third stage (Blizzard).

Lord of Hatred patches (3.0)

3.0.1 (Build #71566, Apr 27, 2026) came with Lord of Hatred and Season of Reckoning, after the 3.0.0 pre-download. It was the biggest change since launch, and most of it reached every player, expansion or not: at the Feb 11, 2026 Spotlight, Blizzard answered the joke that the skill trees were "more like skill twigs" with "That ends here", promising an overhauled tree with meaningful choices from the first skill. The level cap rose to 70 and Torment from 4 levels to 12 (Difficulty and Torment); passive nodes left the skill trees; items now stack to 1,000. Expansion owners got War Plans, Echoing Hatred, the Horadric Cube and Talismans.

The same patch added the loot filter, which Blizzard introduced with "They've finally arrived! You've been asking for this since day one": up to 25 rules per filter, free for everyone (Blizzard, Apr 23, 2026). Follow-ups: 3.0.1a (Apr 28), 3.0.1b (Apr 30), 3.0.1c (May 6), 3.0.2 (May 13, 2026, which made non-Mythic Charms and Seals tradeable and warned that skipping the campaign is permanent for a character), 3.0.3 (May 26) and 3.0.4 (Jun 10, 2026).

Patch 1.1.0 is the most remembered. Released on Jul 18, 2023, two days before the first season, it weakened every class. In a Campfire Chat three days later Blizzard said "it feels bad to take away power" and promised "a more surgical approach when adjustments to balance are needed" (Blizzard, Jul 21, 2023); 1.1.1 followed on Aug 8, 2023. The dates of each season's patch are also on Seasons.

Public test realms (PTR)

Before most seasons Blizzard opens a Public Test Realm so players can try the next patch. It runs on PC only, through the Public Test Realm option in the Battle.net app, and PC Game Pass players can join (Blizzard, Aug 2026); Steam and console players cannot (Icy Veins, Jun 2026). Each test lasts about a week, some weeks before the season:

2.0 Sep 4 to Sep 11, 2024 Vessel of Hatred (Oct 7, 2024)

No PTR was found for Season of Reckoning. Blizzard has not announced the next PTR or the Season 16 patch as of Oct 20, 2026 (Season 16).
